+ Veganism. I've recently enbarked on my own vegan journey after being
vegetarian for a solid three years. I've been eating ridiculously
healthy (partly, I'll admit, because John has moved out to New York City
and I'm back to my normal eating habits) but I've noticed I'm more alert
and feeling healthier in general. Plus, I've already dropped ten
pounds!
+ Finding new and unique ways to decorate my living space. I need to
call my landlord and find out if he'll let me paint. A nice coat of
paint can change any room drastically.
+ That scene in Twilight when Edward is wearing those Ray Ban
Wayfarers and is looking particularly Bob Dylan-ish. Swoon.
+ Multi-chromatic hair. I'd love to put some red or blonde (or both) in
my hair but I don't think my job will let me get away with it. So for
now I'll just ogle everyone else's vibrant tresses. ;)
+ Speaking of hair, I'm also a big fan of long, spiraling curls lately.
Note to self: invest in a curling iron.
+ Avant-garde wardrobes. A touch of crazy adds interest to any outfit,
even if its as simple as pairing some wild futuristic shoes with a
simple and otherwise drab jeans & tee combo.
+ Avocados. I know they get a bad rep for being the most fattening
fruit out there, but this kind of fat is good for you, not to mention
that it does wonders for your skin. So eat up! My favorite ways to eat
avocados are in homemade guacamole dip with pita chips, or chopped up
with tomatoes on toasted wheat bread with a little salt and pepper.
Delicious.
+ Planning my future. I'm registering for my summer and fall classes
(after my loan proccesses, which should be any day now) and if all goes
well then my undergraduate studies at RIC will finally be complete as of
December. It's definitely been a long time coming, but I'm so ready and
motivated to finish and start a new chapter of my life. Once I
graduate, the plan is to move to New York City and get an internship at
Condé Nast. The lease at my current apartment is up on February 1st, so
this gives me about a month post-graduation to look for a new place
before I make the big move. Ideally, I'd like to be in NYC as soon as
possible after that because I want to do the summer internship and get
started on my career as quickly as I can.
What's turning your gears lately?
